Clean the Sky: The T5 Smackover Partners Unveiled a Landmark Project in East Texas
The T5 Smackover Partners unveiled a landmark mineral and clean energy project in East Texas, advancing an integrated initiative within the Smackover Formation that emphasizes environmental sustainability and resource efficiency. The project combines baseload geothermal power generation with low-emissions energy infrastructure, supporting the transition to cleaner and more resilient energy systems. Initial development, originally permitted as a geothermal well, exceeded expected temperature thresholds, confirming the formation’s suitability for scalable geothermal production with minimal surface impact.

Building on this resource, T5 plans to deploy modular Organic Rankine Cycle turbines designed to generate renewable power efficiently and with reduced environmental disturbance. The project also includes ultra-fast electric vehicle charging infrastructure intended to accelerate EV adoption and lower transportation-related emissions.
In addition to this, mobile, dispatchable energy storage is planned to support grid resilience, emergency response, and disaster recovery. Collectively, the initiative supports decarbonization, domestic critical mineral development, and long-term environmental stewardship in the region.
