T5 Smackover Partners was founded by local entrepreneur Bruce Thompson, whose more than 25 years of experience building and exiting successful technology ventures — from automotive platforms to fintech and energy — laid the foundation for a new purpose with his commitment to community-centered resource development.
A New Model: Clean Energy, Critical Minerals, and Shared Prosperity
T5 Smackover Partners is developing an integrated platform in the historic Smackover Formation of Northeast Texas to deliver two powerful tools for the nation’s energy security:
Baseload Geothermal Power — Clean, renewable, zero-emission power that can operate 24/7, offering reliable energy to communities, businesses, and the grid.
Direct Lithium Extraction (DLE) — Extracting high-purity lithium (and potentially other critical minerals such as potassium, magnesium, and bromine) from geothermal brines, that minimizes land impact and water waste.

As of November 2025, T5 Smackover is developing Phase One of its initiative: deploying approximately 10 geothermal wells across the Texas Smackover region, with plans to produce clean lithium daily alongside baseload green energy, and to establish long-term offtake agreements with EV manufacturers, battery companies, utilities, and other stakeholders.
Looking beyond 2030, the company envisions expansion across its acreage, modular growth, and potential extraction of secondary minerals — all while delivering jobs, infrastructure, and reliable power to Texas communities.
